Easy Solution Power Box

Playing with electronics or Arduino? Here’s a “quick’n dirty” solution for cutting down the time to get the power supply set up.

Problem

If you’re like me and play with electronics only every now and then - then you’re aware of the problem: Getting power ready for use often takes a lot of time. And it somewhat messes up the place. And besides, it’s annoying to not have those old spare parts right at hand. You know they exist but you don’t know where they are right now.

Solution

Let me show you an easy and cheap solution I found for this.

  1. Buy a simple and cheap wooden box somewhere:

  2. Throw in all that nasty power supply stuff:

  3. Get these cable clamps from a DIY market and drill some holes into the top cover of the box:

  4. Adjust your power supplies:

  5. Or use batteries and accumulators:

  6. Cut out a little piece of the side wall. That way you can easily get your cables through:

You get the idea!
